Okay, so Amerisuites got blown out of the water--my fault.  So, I've come up with two options for you...

1.  I'll find a Days Inn, Comfort Suites, etc that is plenty cheap and close to Kendall's.   (Around $55-60 per night.)

2.  I've gotten us an awesome deal at Hotel 71, a newly renovated awesome highrise in downtown, 4 miles from Kendall's.  Normal rate is $179, i got the rooms for $80.

This is where your vote comes in.  Since this banquet is for y'all, I'll let you decide.

P.S.--This change also affects the shuttle situation, but one way or another we will have a shuttle service.

Tiff,  I hear this place is beautiful!  What about parking?

TiffineyIngram

Kendall's has plenty of free parking across the street (so I've been told).  As for Hotel 71, I'm not really sure.  Which one are you talking about?

Jeff

Truly, I don't care, just so the place is not a hell hole.  Nothing remotely like the "Budget Lodge" at Gingerman, that place made a bus-stop look pretty.

I'd rather pay an extra $50 for a place with clean sheets.

QuoteHotel 71!

Well, that hotel is at ground zero, for sure, and should be pretty nice.  Altho it's a bit removed from the nightlife part of town.

Also, it's near the el train, and that happens to go right up near Kendall's, so you can save a few bucks getting back and forth that way instead of cabbing it.

Just a question ...

Why isn't the banquet set up at a hotel that has a banquet room? That would pretty much solve the problem. ;)

The kuul and trendy place may be nice but it doesn't serve the needs of the situation.  I think a one stop location would serve everyones interests much better.
It also would be a better situation for people with kids. You know, a place with a pool etc.  ;D

I know it's too late for this year but .... just my thoughts. ::)

Banquets have been held at hotels for the past few years.  This year, we wanted something a little different--the majority asked for it, I think I did a pretty great job finding a place this nice to work with us.  They've even gone so far as to allow kids in for free.  The host hotel will not be more than two miles away from Kendall's, and instead of a hotel bus, I'm supplying a 10-passenger limosine to get you guys back and forth safely to and from the banquet.  Obviously I can't please all of the people all of the time, but I think Kevin and I have gone above and beyond to make this year's banquet special for y'all.

Wasn't asking to be pleased.  I've  always placed function above form so the hotel would work better in my eyes. Just my opinion.  Most likely won't be staying at the hotel anyway.
