In another thread there was some talk about body work. Several manufacturers were discussed, and certain recommendations were given in regards to product. During that discussion there was mention of TripleX possibly going out of business even though their website was still up and running.

My questions are these...does anyone have information about TripleX the company (not their products)? Have they or are they going out of business. Has anyone had any positive or negative dealings with them?

The reason I am asking is my team was apprroached by them to use their product. We had some difficulties staying in contact to work the deal (unreturned phone messages and emails). When we finally were able to hook up and items started exchanging hands, we did not end up with a warm fuzzy feeling about the relationship. We have not gotten everything we were told we would be getting, and we didn't get the items we ended up with in the amount of time we were told we would have them. In addition, some of the items were incorrect for the bikes we run. Although this is an ongoing deal and we have been told by TripleX they would get us what they committed to, in our minds we gave them a certain amount of time to get their act together before we initiated other strategies. That time is quickly running out.

If anyone has any insight to the company and how they do business, I would greatly appreciate hearing it.

Thanks!!!

Ronin,

Thanks for the information. What series bodywork did you get? The only person we have been talking with is Jeff, so any additional contacts you have would be most appreciated!

Mind if I ask if any money exchanged hands? Or are you out and out sponsored?

Look forward to your reply. If you want to email me direct, feel free.

;D Here's some info 1-888-929-2202 or 705 735 0079, ask for Chris, it seems he owns a company called northern lights canoe & kayak, which owns or is part owner of XXX, when I had my problems getting stuff on time I called chris and got it the next week. As far as sponsorship goes, I met these guys at Carolina spoke with them agreed in writing to promote their stuff, in return got $50 bucks for anyone I refered, he gave me a set of silver series, when I got back home I sent him $400 bucks for it I then got another set (gold series)with an extra solo tail.

I dont trust them as far as I can throw em. I ordered some bodywork from them last year. They charged my credit card, and i didn't get the product on the date he promised. I tried to call him (Jeff) for 7 days straight and he would never return my calls. I looked on my credit card statement to find the the charge was made under Northern Lights Canoe in Canada. I called them and raised living hell. Within 45 secs Jeff called be back apologizing and sent out the body work overnight and threw in an extra tail section. BUT forgot the Zeus fasteners I paid for.   >:( >:(

I will never do business with them again. I don't trust a company that you can't call and get an answer with on the phone. Leaving messages for 7 days at a real operation would never work. Businesses that run like that are destined to go out of business soon. :(

Trey,

Thanks for sharing your experience and insight. Your experience unfortunately echoes some of what we have been facing.

If it is an consolation, it is my understanding that TripleX is actually a subsidiary of the canoe company you mentioned, which is how the business started. Although I can not recall if that is specific name of the company I once heard owned it, it would stand to reason it is one in the same. In addition, I was also told that their financial services run through an account under the name of Z1 Cycles. Supposedly that was done because of people seeing "XXX" on processed financial records.

We are planning a full court press in the coming weeks. Wish us luck!

Happy Holidays!
