TEAM CHALLENGE UPDATE
Due to the low number of entries for the TrackAddix Team Challenge at our Memorial Day Weekend event, we have spent the last couple of weeks seeking feedback from the racers regarding the future of this endurance series. Although some racers offered good suggestions, the overwhelming conscientious was to eliminate the Team Challenge and move the GT races to the practice day.  We know that some of you will be disappointed by this decision, however rest assured, we are not giving up on endurance racing in the region just yet.  Stay tuned....

RACE DAY SCHEDULE CHANGES
You spoke, we listened!  The TrackAddix Team Challenge endurance series has been eliminated and the GT races will take place on Saturday (Friday for Twin Sprint events).  The new race day schedule is available on our website, simply click on the race date to find all the information you are looking for.

One benefit derived from eliminating the Team Challenge and moving the GT races to the practice day is that it provides alot more "wiggle" room in the schedule and allows us more flexibility to reduce the number of back to back races some of you endured during our May event.  For instance, the SuperTwins and Lightweight Formula 40 classes that were previously combined with other races, have been broken out and used to create additional separation between Middleweight, Heavyweight, or Unlimited classes.  The additional schedule flexibilty has also permitted us to raise the sprint races from 7 laps back to the normal 8 laps you have come to expect.

We also received some questions as to why we had that single round of practice following the lunch break during the practice day.  Our reasoning is that many racers use the lunch break to mount new tires or do mechanical work to their bikes.  We want to provide you that after lunch practice session to scrub in new tires and have one last chance to test any changes or mechanical work you've done before riding your bike under race conditions.

When evaluating our schedule please keep in mind the 3 prime directives we have set in place.

  • 1.  Provide a significant amount of practice time on day 1 of the weekend.
  • 2.  Keep DOT tire classes before lunch and slick tire classes after lunch.
  • 3.  Keep Sunday as the "main event" day to help build a spectator base.

Remember that it is impossible to build a schedule that will work perfectly for ALL racers.  Especially those racers who are riding multiple bikes in numerous classes.  Our goal is to build a schedule that will work for the MAJORITY of racers.  Please keep sending us your feedback and we will continue to make improvements as necessary.

LIGHTWEIGHT GP TO PAY $1000 TOTAL PURSE
The Team Challenge series comprised 4 of our purse paying classes.  With the elimination of the series we have made those purse dollars available to Lightweight racers.  Now both amateur and expert racers in the LW, MW, HW, and UNL classes will all have a chance to win some cash.

PRE-ENTRY CONFIRMATION WEB PAGE
We have created a webpage where you can confirm whether we have received your entry or not.  Simply go to www.TrackAddix.com, click on RACE, click on the race date you are interested in, and then click the appropriate link on the race event page.  Please give us a few days after you have sent your entry in to get your name posted before calling us.

We really encourage you to PLEASE pre-enter your events.  Pre-entering is a WINNING situation.  You get a better grid position and faster moving registration lines.  We have more time to process your entry which means fewer mistakes in your grids.

Keep it on 2 wheels and a puck!

Please forgive the confusion...
I just returned to the US after a 4yr hiatus in Japan. I am very interested in running the Team Challenges. Given this new bit of information, how many of the blue "TC" annotated events found here; http://www.ccsracing.com/schedules/2006/schedule.html are affected?

I do not yet have a grasp of how the different event hosts affect the actual schedule of the event.

Rich,

All of the Team Challenge events from the master schedule that you linked are still scheduled.

The cancellation of the Team Challenge events referred to here in the earlier post were only for the Great Plains Region (run by Track Addix for CCS).  That would be only for races at Mid America, Hastings, Hallett and Gateway.

FYI....anyone who didn't pre-register for MAM this weekend.....  you may be missing out on some easy money$$$$$$  There's still time to show up and register!
