Hey doesnt taking a poll like this on a racing site(me favorito) guarantee a positive vote to the track choice? Kinda like a Sadaam voting technique? s'all stacked in favor of the desired outcome.so,1-I wanna change my vote because I Do Care-and now choose to get drunk/ toss midgets! Well I have to say the track as it feels like you have more control and some basic trust in the experience of the comrades around you, unlike the street where they are the enemy.  Although I have had my only permanent injury riding while at the track.  Well wait that was because some squid snuck on the track and pushed me off the track. 

So street riders riding with racers on the track is more dangerous, only thing that would be more dangerous would be if they let SUVs on the track to drop off there kids at the infield daycare during an event.

I haven't had any wildlife on the track (that wasn't already riding) but I have had a Moose walk across the road on me when up in Montana.  Heavy brakes and you just sit there tell it decides to move, and no honking doesn't work.

But you do bring up one really good point if anyone would want to discuss.  If we (and assume we are right) agree (70+% currently) that racing is safer, why then is it still a Life Insurance nightmare as is flying skydiving,scuba diving,etc......

Reminds me of the Vanagon that hit a buffalo out in Yellowstone in '93. We arrived on scene right after it occurred. All 3 occupants went into the windshield and to the hospital in Lake. Buffalo walked into the woods, relatively unharmed.

Again, as was said in an earlier post, depends on the operator!
You son are your own worst enemy.

As for the answer to the question, I will say this. Regardless how hard one rides, the track is always safer for one simple reason: Everyone at the track including the emergency medical technicians are prepared for a crash; a motorcycle rider of the street kind will not attain the same care or immediateness of that care when the crash occurs.

Note that I did not say "if" the crash occurs.
