R6 fork tubes...raised??

OK all you R6 gurus.

How far should I raise the tubes in the tripleclamps for optimum, but not psycotic steering??

I raised the rear with one of those linkage/triangle kits.  It gave me about 18mm of lift in the rear.  I of course lost about 12mm of that by puting on 70 series race tires.  I guess that leaves me with 6mm.

How far should/could I raise the fork tubes??

Thanks for your input.

Hey,
Do you still have the stock handel bars on? Have you moved the tubes at all yet?
What I did was raise the fork tubes to (9mm) from the flat surface on the stock handle bar clamp.
At first I set it at (6mm) that is the differance between the 60 & 70 series tire but the front end chatterd entering high speed stuff. So I went thre3e more mils. That did the trick for me.

We set up two at the shop...
mildly intertaining (faster tracks)- 9mm measured
same as above thread.

Psycotic (tight tracks)-12 mm

both have the clamp on's moved below the upper triple tree.
both have the rear jacked, but I forgot the eye to eye measurement
Sorry, hope this helps

I do not really know if this applies, but...

I needed some more ground clearance so I added the 10mm lifter in the rear shock linkage and then dropped the front tubes 5mm (I was a little afraid of the 10mm total lift in the rear).

The overall effect on steering was negligible to me and bought me just enough lift to get my toes off of the ground.
