How are these things going to work? I just read in my Daytona mailer that they have to go under the rear tail, perpendicular to the axle, pointed to the ground so it can pick up the signal from the track? Is this right? Seems to me like the tire/wheel will be in the way or am I reading the rules wrong?? ??? ;D Another thing how do you strap them under a 748 Ducatis Pipes?  :o Are they giong to be used at the first Roebling race? Thanks if anyone knows this stuff!!!  ;D I better get there early to get this all worked out.

I need to know the dimensions/construction of the pouch too, please.

Thanks, that thread did answer most of my concerns. Still I did not see where it will be mounted, under the tail or on the top? ??? I would like to know the first tracks that will be using the things. Anyone know for sure? :P

Eric Kelcher

It mounts on top of tail section EXCEPT for those with carbon fiber body work or large metal under tail 748/916 have not been a problem but 125GP bikes have unsure why but that is what Tiffiney said in another post.

Okay... I went through that entire thread.  Same questions remain unanswered:  How is it constructed, what are the dimensions and where can I get one prior to the first race weekend???

Thanks, all!

Another question about the transponders.......am I covered by CCS if the transponder is damaged in a crash or will I be charged when I return it damaged?  Not that I plan on crashing but I would like to know if it's going to cost even more to crash this year!

Sorry Kim:

I thought the answer was in there.  All I know is that it is a nylon pouch, I don't know the dimensions.

Well...that is a good question...but seems to me that if you have it on and they are MAKING you use it then it is not your fault if you crash and it is broken. just my $.02

For the increased price in entries, which we all know will not go away, CCS should be covering damage...

I hope they have enough spares to cover damage/post entries. Otherwise it would still be hand scoring, if they run out of transponders
