Brian and Ike,

You guys are too funny.  Half the fun of listening to Snoop Dog (or is it Dawg?) is trying to figure out what he is saying.  Paul's reaction to Snoop is even funnier.

'Ya know, dey don't tlk like dat upt here.'

Just for the record, I went to "black bike week" in 1998.  Although...no-one told me it was "black" bike week.  I found that out for myself. :-/

I figure that there were somewhere in the neighborhood (hood) of 150,000 people there.  I think that I only counted about 10 white people (crackers) including myself.  I bought 4 of them with me.

I witnessed zero signs of any racial segregation while I was there.  It was a good time and I'm glad I went.

That's cuz you is a dirty low down gangsta and nobody wanted to step to you cuz they was scared!  ;D

QuoteTreybone,
You don't have a lot of brothers racing with you, do you?  You ought to come up to Blackhawk with your attitude.  There is a hospital nearby............
But I do know what you are sayin'.  If trey and I got together and formed a whitebike week, we would be considered rascist.  On that same premise, blackbikeweek is rascist against all people that are not black.  It confuses any argument from the people at blackbikeweek that rascism is bad.  blackbikeweek says that rascism is bad unless we want to do it!  Maybe I'm wrong, but I know I've got a point and so does Trey.

I am welcome, and I am not black. Neither is a lot of people going. As long as you have the right attitude and ride a bike, you are welcome.

and again, I have been running that website for years, I have been going for years, I have met friends that will last a life time, I have had fun every second I am there, I have never been disrespected (beyond ignorance). Most bike owners that attend (not the on-lookers) are accomplished professionals that also ride sportbikes. Most of them don't even ride crazy. A few of ones have been doing track days with me on there chromed bikes. They wear good helmets back home and own protective equipment.

You are stereotyping. Do judge a book by its cover especially when you don't understand the language.

Quotethe one thing about "blackbike week" is that white "brothers" are welcome, and will be there.

it's labeled moreso to invite the "blacks" out......
basiclly to let blacks know that this is an event where segregation is NOT what you will face....

long ago a black bike club (on harleys) decided to have a party on the beach, it got big, then annual (sp), then...... it became blackbike week.....

noone started out with "hey, we need to start a "black" bike week...
it just grew... (and i dont think the originators wanted it to be mostly sportbikes)

i personally dont have a problem with racism, if you wanna feel superior, you should feel superior (i do).
i just try to keep from imposing myself on the general public (try) ;)

Thats right, the original and official name of black bike week is "Atlantic Beach Bike Rally". Over the years, mostly sportbikes owned by black attended because : they are NOT welcome at most bike rallys (mostly white harley crowd)

So the expansion of the whole bike rally is because of sportbikes, and black sportbike riders being discreminated. Not necessarily racist.

Black Bike Week is not racist. Everyone is welcome. If anyone feel that they are not welcome there, they probably will feel unwelcome at ANY occassions where a lot of black people are present. That is THEIR problem.
