Press is good.  That's good for Bobby, that's good for Safety First.

It's also good for CCS racers at Blackhawk, Blackhawk Farms, and CCS.

CCS doesn't bother getting any write ups at Blackhawk even though it can be argued that it's one of it's most important venues for it's finacial well being.  It's close to the Chicago, Milwaukee,  etc. market and has been a source for a lot of entries five to six times every year for a period that has been approaching two decades.

I don't know if I would call it factually incorrect considering there seems to be widespread disagreement to what the facts may be.  Rather there is a debate on what the lap record actually is and by whom. 

In any event, it would be nice in the future if the sanctioning body would take the appropriate measures to capture, record and publish / release this type of information in order to avoid this scenario.   

Does WERA offer any type of training classes to other orgs?

Good Press?  I don't know that I see it that way Dave...  It was good until it was corrected.

Anybody can claim anything.  The issue is providing fact to back it up.  In this case that's lacking on pretty much all accounts.  The FACT that people ran (subjectively) FAST remains, but that wasn't the point of the story...

So ccs doesn't keep the lap times from previous years?  if the did a simple computer program would reveal the fastest lap in each class.

I do find it amusing that an Professional AMA team did a press release bragging about going to a club race and setting a lap record....and they may not even have been correct.  Whoops.

Big props to Bobby for being able to run those kind of times on his first trip to the track.  But the team sure didn't do itself (or him) and PR favors by releasing that press release.  (nor by coming back and bad mouth other riders in this thread)  (just my view as a slow assed am)
