I happened upon a real bad accident on the interstate yesterday, whole highway shut down, no ambulances, no firefighters and a couple hundred folks staring at me to make things right.  A crowded place can seem right lonely sometimes.  Young teenage girl died right in front of me, 2 hours later I was standing at her parents front door, wondering how I was gonna tell em.  Looking in I can see the whole family laughing and getting stuff ready for Christmas.  Very tough night.  Anyhow, I'm leaving her house an hour later, going back to my car, kinda messed up in the head, and the phone rings.  Its one of our ccs racing bros, and man did I need that pick me up.  This morning, another racin bro, calls, and one of our bros shows right up at my house, (primarily just to eat my food), but hey, I'll take whatever encouragment I can get.  I'll never forget that young girl, and I'll never forget my racing family for being there, hope you all have great holidays, these days are precious.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOOOHOOO! What a freaken ride"

Chaplain,

I have never had the good fortune to meet you.  I hope some day that I do.  From reading your comments on this board and reading what others have said about you, that girl's family was in the best hands possible - yours.

If my family were ever to receive a visit in a similar circumstance I would pray that it would be from someone matching your compassion.

I will be praying for comfort for your heart.

Those three knocks on that door are the hards knocks anyone has to do. I know I have been in your shoes. The only thing you can do try and move on. Life is to short to be hung up on the past. It is a horrible thing that this young life was taken but god wanted her more then she was needed hear on earth.
