That thing will lucky to be ready by the race season............... mine, on the other hand, is nearly complete and ready to ROLL!!!  :boink:  Just a few minor details to work out, putting the correct stickers on, that sort of thing.....  oh, and getting a motor, that would be good too.........

with a little help from my friends and a pinch of luck (I should have alot this year as I had NONE last year) I'll be running some lightweight stuff this year.  Looking forward to banging bars wtih you guys!!

with alot of luck I'll have the R6 back in shape too racing 2 bikes!!!

Now I just gotta lose "half a becca" so I dont get dusted in the straights!

Great news Timmay! You deserve a boat load of good luck this year.

thanks Randy!  Things seem to be coming together nicely.  Dropped 7 lbs int he last 2 weeks, new job is going well so far, have 2 people looking at my truck this week... things are finally starting to go my way again!

If I get the nack of the new gig soon enough I'll be running the R6 and an SV... gotta make up for essentially missing last year!

All kinds of opportunities have presented themselves from various sources and to those that have and are providing me with these opportunities, I really cant thank you enough!  It wasnt necessary, but it sure as hell is appreciated!!

FWIW...I run a 07 800SS Super Bike here in the MA region.  Last year I had it making 84HP on VPU2, mild headwork (basically a SS job), Hi Comp Pistal Pistons, ARC exhaust, LW Flywheel, open airbox.  I put 1000SS forks on it with AK-20's in there.  The bike handles great and has really nice pull off the corners.  The torque is nuts on these bikes. The only thing I dont like is the throttle is hard to pull vs a G2 SV which I rode for the previous 3 years.

For 08 the bike is about 40lbs lighter, full headwork, cams, LW pulley system for the timing belts.  We are hoping for 90+ HP out of the 800SS.  The cams we used are 900SS ie cams which gave a lil more duration and 1mm more lift on int an ex.

If Donnie Unger is helping you I'm sure your bike will run well. He and his wife are good folks and we were happy to see them get a dealership.  I'd have Donnie look into the trottle pull, my SS pull is very light, you may want to remove the fast idle cable and mech, plus check the throttle tube, cable & routing. It should be very easy like a g2 SV

Yup...Donnie is doing the work.  He has done a great job in the past and Im sure its gonna be good to go this time also.  The throttle has been like this since it was brand new out of the crate.  We are putting a 1/5th turn on it.  I thought it was because it was a single cable vs the push/pull dual cable with the SV's.  I am hoping to get this thing fairly competative vs the Buell's in ASRA Thunderbike.  I think the 40lb weight reduction is gonna be huge on top of the HP and torque gains.

I'm doing what I can to reduce the weight of my SS racebike also. Sharkskinz, lighter rotors, light exhaust, light flywheel, lighter clutch, alloy pulleys, rearsets, 520 kit, lighter forks & brakes, reduced wiring, titanium bits, lighter triples, everything removed that isn't needed,  Before long I'm adding the FuelCel tank to top it off. After that I think it's done, it gets to a point where any lighter gets unreasonably expensive.
