Ducatis suck!  Hey Scott

Ben, you bet ducati's suck.  This years build is well underway, everythings in pieces.  I might need a 2nd job to cover the costs of this winter's build.  I just spent $800 dollars on consumables, seals, belts, and gaskets, etc.  You don't even want to know how much the Hi-Po stuff is costing.  If I had known they were going to raise the ceiling to 800cc on SV's, I would have bought one instead of the Duc.

The Ohlins SBK forks on my SS cost more than a race SV. The ARC Exhaust, Brembo Race Brakes, Slipper, Motor Parts, Titanium bits, Sharkskinz etc just add to the pain... Yes in this way Ducati's can truly suck the money right out of your wallet.  :wah:

Ok, let me help edit your list:

Timmay is unconfirmed. You must remove him until further notice.
Greg is only running Thunderbike. That is only one LW class. When I'm thinking LW, I'm thinking SS, SB, GP, etc.  Thunder is for the Buells.
B-Rock already said he wasn't going to two of the rounds. He is out.
No way KC would do a whole season. He likes his dirty bikes too much.

Getting closer though! I'm gonna have to dust off the ole R6 so I can sell her!

If I did get back into the LW game I was gonna look for a late model G2 SV......but lately I was thinking......if I could find a G1 at a good price......I could keep the R6 and have both.

Clayton, got anything you wanna make a "Rich Wu deal of a lifetime" on? Give me a call.

there is some confusion to that list Rich... that is the PETITION list to get you banned if we get 10 riders.

Sounds like excuses to me.  As I mentioned before, its not like you race with 10 guys after T1 on your R6... you race with 2-3.  And its not like its about contingency... you arent winning any on the R6 anyway!   :ass:

Oh and your sisters hot!!  Does she like bald guys?

and can you BELIEVE the price of gas in IL???    :lmao:

FWIW, i wont be racing SS, I am thinking GTL, SB and TB... pending what kinda power I'm throwin down.

While I'd admit that the ARC exhaust look cool, but I have yet to see back to back dyno runs comparing it with the hindle, or the stock system.  There's two ways to design an exhaust- cut and try or computer modeling.  I doubt that ARC does either objectively.  I will tell you that at least one very sophisticated computer model shows that a 2 into 1 is best, which is contrary to common wisdom about twins.

If you tabulate weight vs. cost (with a fudge factor for spinning and unsprung weight) you'll see that almost everything Titanium is a poor value as compared to mag wheels, smaller battery, lighter brake disks, etc.  Fairings are the worst  value of all, you have a negative weight savings with a lot of cost.  I have yet to try a slipper clutch, my geriatric riding style hasn't required it yet.

I know that there can be a lot of variation with OEM duc parts, but I was thrilled with the stock forks.  I just changed the springs.  The stiction was very close to SB-level as-delivered.

I'd send you my spreadsheet to analyze weight/cost if your interested

I'm interested in your spreadsheet.  Please send to goldwing702001@yahoo.com.  THANKS!

Good thing he has 16.5 forged mags and Brembo HP Rotors then.

Yep.  I was thinking "SS" meant supersport.  Nevermind.

Sounds like you have lots of Corse bling available to you at cost, throw some my way.  I just spent $800 with you.  Check your email, there's no magic to the spread sheet, it just alters spinning and unsprung mass by a factor of 1.5x and compiles it in one catagory.  I also have one that figures it in terms of HP increase, but it seems a little optimistic to me.

The one I send you will not be the same as mine, I have removed the items that are not commercially available.  I make many parts in my machine shop... so the costs are not valid unless you figure your (or your machinist) time is free.

Thats not the meaning of SS at all.  I ride a ducati 1000 Super Sucky.  Ducati altered the contingency cuttoff year at 2007, mine is 2006- thats pretty crappy considering buell goes to 2003.

At this rate, if Wu keeps dodging us we'll pass up the NESBA/Road America thread in a week
