While I'd admit that the ARC exhaust look cool, but I have yet to see back to back dyno runs comparing it with the hindle, or the stock system.  There's two ways to design an exhaust- cut and try or computer modeling.  I doubt that ARC does either objectively.  I will tell you that at least one very sophisticated computer model shows that a 2 into 1 is best, which is contrary to common wisdom about twins.

OK, I'll bite - 2 cylinders, 1 exhaust......short of twin cans what other options are there?

My ARC exhaust is a copy of the Corsa system Franco Farne designed for the late 888 racers. Big tubes and twin silencers, not the odd looking in tail design.

As for light weight, I have a lots of Titanium from previous race bikes. So every fastener I could has been swapped out, even motor mounts and bigger stuff like that. Of course the Marchesini's with all Ti hardware, light rotors, light Ohlins Works SBK forks (@ 5 lbs less than the stockers), light Brembo Billet brake calipers (@ 3 lbs lighter than stock), Light engine parts inside, Light pipes and hangers, Light body work, minimal wiring, FuelCel, and everything else I can cut off, remove, modify or replace with something lighter is also being done. Cost to weight is irrelavant once it gets this stupid. It's going to be very light, but I'm sure some people have lighter Ducati SS machines, but that number would be very small.

I'm only racing LW SBK, LW GP, TB, F40 and Super Twins. I way too old to race any more classes than that without passing out in the heat or something worse.

Scott, we tested different bodywork configurations as well as no bodywork, and the results were more than tangible. Stop trying to sell people on the fact that bodywork doesnt help you, it doess. We picked up 1200 rpm going from no bodywork to full bodywork and were able to pick up an additional 300 rpm modifying the way the bodywork hung on the motorcycle. All of this on a 75 hp 130-mph motorcyle. Imagine the difference on a 180 hp 180 mph moptorcycle.

I can tell you for a fact bodywork does make a difference.  I was pulling into 6th gear at the finish line at Road A with bodywork, after my crash and no bodywork I was getting pulled like I was dragging an anchor and I never shifted into 6th at all

What about all those bikes I pulled down MAM's front straight on my nekid SV? Must have been that angled MX number plate. :)

Oh, I'm just totally biased on the bodywork thing.  I like seeing what's going on under the skin.  Bodywork and ram air are very difficult to measure empirically.  Ben, you have the closest thing to data I've seen yet.  I'd help, but my wind tunnel is broken.  I'll actually be running a fairing this year, but only because the wind messed up my hair so much last year.

I stand corrected with Ducati23, he's obviously much better funded than my effort.  Your already well beyond diminishing returns.  Mine was 365 ready to race on the HPT scales last year-  I was pretty happy with that at the time, but hopefully I'll be around 345 for this year.  To get below that you need to get more creative and wealthier.

Anthony, the bike has juggs, not boobs.  We've discussed this before.

Hey Kevin

Are you losing your mind w/ old age?

That is HPT, not MAM.

And you appear to be next to last. You've got one EX behind you and the rest of the field is yellow plates.  The reason you are "pulling them down the straight" is because you got a head start and they haven't passed you yet.

:)

See ya Saturday?

Those are pics from the Tucker Rocky track day. That's me layin the smack down on my brothers GSXR750. #212.
I mention MAM because I was passing someone on an SV superbike, 700cc, GSXR1000 forks, 180 rear tire ect.... big time down the front straight. Him tucked in behind the fairing and me, getting my head ripped of by the wind!

Yes, I'll see you Sat. Bring your sis. I heard she's hot! (Paybacks rule)
