I tried the dunlops last year for two race weekends and concluded that going back to used pirellis was like night and day as far as control and confidence. I was not told by the distributor that the tires racerhall was using are different than the ones I was sold. I hadn't heard of the uk vs us tire issue before. None the less, I'll be on Pirelli's again this year - No surprises.

But... for someone else's sake, please explain how the new 211 Ntec relate in performance to last years 209 uk's vs us tires.

The more I think about this, the angrier I get. I'm CERTAIN that if I had been sold the correct tires that I would have been able to put up racerhall like lap times. Damn those shady distributors.  :wtf:

Yeah right! not even I believe that one.

Right.......and maybe if Pirelli sold you the same tires Farrell was running you`d be able to turn RacerFarrell lap times! :jerkoff:

Ok...so can anyone tell us whether or not the NTec tires are US or UK or both or neither or maybe they're just retread Pirellis.

The N-Tecs are only UK made.

The new michelins are due to be out very soon. The coments about "i put em on and i fell down".. you did something wrong with your bike or your riding. I assure you it was not the tires fault. Different brands have different characteristics i will give you that.. try different brands as see what works for you, dont leave it to us to say what will work for you. THat being said.. get on the Michelin's .

Absolutely! Anytime you exceed the available traction, it is your fault. I wasn't trying to blame the tire, just stating that my perception was that there was less feel from the Dunlop rear. I also stated that my buddy uses them without issue.

Does anyone have a decent amount of experience using the ntec's vs. the normal (uk) 209's? I've heard that the setup with these tires is substantially different - more so than just accounting for the difference in diameter. I heard something about having to change spring rates - any truth to this?

Toves33

If you are switching from the Michelins to the NTecs, you will definitely have to adjust the suspension. I don't know about the spring rates, but you will definitely have to account for the taller profile.

how do you tell the UK 'lops from the US ones?

I just scored two sets of them from someone in CT so I can try them out.

Should be on the sidewall.  "Made in Great Britain" if from the UK.
