Huge thanks to the CCS official that held the big "TECH" sign after the supersport race on Sunday!   In my opinion that is needed every supersport race to remind riders to tech. Alternatively, they could just tech us in hot pit like they used to do! I don't see why they don't do it that way anymore. When ALL THREE podium finishers in one race forget to tech that's a sign that something needs to be done. This is the 2nd weekend in a row where multiple riders have been DQ'd for forgetting tech. (twice in a row for me)

Yea I know its our responsibility, but is it really that much of a hassle to hold a sign or move tech for us forgetful people? Its just that after a race I am not thinking straight and I'm in my own little world. I always forget! Even when I write it down to tech on my gas tank!  ::)  I also come to the track alone so I dont have anyone to remind me in the pit.

So pretty please keep using the tech sign or consider moving tech to hot pit for the supersport races. Just my opinion. Thank you.

+1 I had my teammate remind me to go to tech which helped alot.  At RA I took 2nd in SS and 1st place forgot completely...I rolled over there and reminded him.  Getting a win due to a technicality doesn't ever feel good. Plus, you shouldn't lose results based on forgetting to go to tech.  The sign should be there for every SS race IMO.  I thought since you got made fun of at riders meeting for asking about tech that you wouldn't forget though!!! LOL
Well how could there be two number 1's? It'd be number 11 then?

Always assume tech after any supersport race for the top 3. Been that way forever. Unless race director says otherwise at the riders meeting (reason why every rider should be there like they are supposed to).

Well like at RA....the first day they didnt require SS to tech.  SS should always be required to tech so it doesn't cause any confusion IMO.

The problem is I do alot of races and I never know which are supersport. I write it down on my gas tank, but I still forget! I cant help it.

I was at the riders meeting and even asked them to remind us off the track cause I knew I would forget and they laughed at me. I promptly forgot and got DQ'd out of a win argghhhh. Seriously a sign shouldnt be too difficult. I'll even hold a bake sale and raise the money to buy ccs a tech sign if need be. I lost out on over $500 of contingency $$$ for being forgetful.

Carl ya gotta get into a routine. You guys the first to forget to do it? Nope and it will still happen even WITH a sign. Back when I started racing cars I forgot to run across the scales after the race. Docked 3 positions. Never forgot to do it again.

Can the officials also hold up a sign to remind me to check my gas before the race? Oh and also to buckle my helmet before I put my gloves on I keep forgetting. Thanks.

You're lucky they don't have you pull fuel tanks and open air boxes like they used to every SS race.

why should officials stand in the hot sun, for multiple races, because the RACERS don't listen at the riders meetings?? Alan, Jennifer, etc. say multiple times that any top 3 in a ss race should report to tech. I wouldn't wanna sit in the friggin sun after a race, why should the officials ?

The sign isn't a horrible idea, i can understand for the first year or so racers need to "get in the groove".. and for many it could be awhile before you NEED to report to tech, so yea, the sign isn't a horrible idea but i find it sucks for them to do more than they need to. I mean, if they forget to put the sign up, are you gonna be mad if you don't go to tech and get dq'd ?
It's pretty darn simple, ss race, go to tech. Even if you are not sure ! easy.

Karl, you crack me up. For those of you who were not at Black Hawk Farms where the said SS tech issue occurred, here's the homer behind it. On Saturday morning Karl addressed his concerns on the tech process during the riders meeting. He wanted to be reminded to tech after his race. The next day during Sundays riders meeting the issue was once again brought up because some ass clown forgot to tech. And wouldn't you know it, it was Karl. To be fair there were two other guys that forgot as well. It was a funny situation.

All in all, I believe the ride should be responsible for knowing what race he/she is in and when to tech. Let's not burn up the resources of CCS on items that could be handled with a bit of foresight

It's not an issue of not listening in riders meetings. I heard them say it and even brought up a question about it. There are also canopies in the pit so officials don't have to sit in the sun. They're already standing out there anyway to congratulate us after the race too so I don't see what the issue is. As for the sign I don't think it would take too much time to put it up or just wave it.

Oh and BTW Melk Man, I finally won 2 expert races on my bridgestones   woulda been 3 but guess what, I forgot to go to tech lmao  :banghead:  I think the B-stones can and will win expert races. I just need to keep improving. (sorry off topic)

We three weren't the only ones who forgot to tech. There were other racers in other classes that forgot as well. Same thing with the last weekend at road America. Lots of riders forgetting. That's why I brought it up in the first riders meeting. A lot of people wanted to be reminded with a sign or something. I would prefer them to tech in hot pit like the used to do even if that means tearing down tank and airbox. That's still better than forgetting.

The worst part is I knew I would forget in the riders meeting so I tried everything I could do to not forget and still forgot.  ::)  I've done this way too many times now. And yes I know how amusing this is to everyone   maybe I should stop drinking beer :ahhh:

I really think this could be done with zero or minimal resources from ccs as well. Like I said I'll buy or raise money for the fricking sign and the officials are already standing out in hot pit. It wouldn't waste any resources for them to just hold the sign for one min as we come off track. I will even pay the sign-holding official in beer, free hugs, and high fives. Seems like a good deal to me.

I know it's my responsibility, but I obviously can't handle it lol. What I'm asking for is just a small favor from CCS. I know many other riders would like it as well. Just a suggestion and just my opinion. Be gentle on me
