I'm tossing around the idea of representing Honda in this class. (God knows it's needed ) :ass:

Currently, I'm a mid-packer 'I' rider at track days (vtr1000F, old & slow like me).
I've never raced before.

I'm old. I'm tall. I'm not skinny. But, this class sounds like fun.

CCS allows mods and it allows the 300. If I bring a CBR250 to the track, it's not fair from the get-go.
The CBR is down 8-ish bhp (or more). Down 10-20mph (or more) on top speed (I'd get crushed at RA).

The gentlemen agree not to split the cases and fiddle with stuff.
Would the gentlemen in the MW be offended if I did a 305cc kit? Just to get close to equaling the performance and bring the brand war to the 1/4 Liter's?

Thoughts?
Would team green be skeered?

Great, Spoot is here now...

Go KTM!
I've been here for 3 years !
:spank:

sounds like reliability would be an issue as well.
Millenium Tech here in Wi had a kit, but lost a head gasket on development bike.
Takewaga has a kit...but, I'm thinking all this may not be worth it. cost -vs- return -vs- grenade.
:(

The cbr300 should be in showrooms this month, btw.
I wonder how long before one shows up on crashedtoy or copart?

The gentleman's agreement has evolved a bit down south. After two teams expressed interest in running outside of spec, we (the riders NOT CCS) split ourselves up into two groups, those who want to modify and those who choose to remain spec. While I believe that the money spent modifying a 250 is better spent on a GP bike or an SV, this set up seems to be working well. One of the teams has two bikes and runs both. ULTB on the moded bike, and GTUL (also know in Florida as 250 Spec) on the Spec bike.

This way everyone gets a chance to race a fair race. The spec guys and girls get the machine parity, low cost to campaign, and simplicity to enforce. While the Modified 300 ULTB guys and girls get their thrills out of seeing how much faster they can make their bike.

On a side note, we have a couple of Honda 250s which run Spec with us. We do allow them to run Race fuel due to the fact that they are down a little bit on power. Both are competitive. One of them is ridden by the tallest member of our group who is well over 6' tall and over 200 lbs.

found some vids with Ari Henning. Race-prepped a CBR.
head work, suspension, "special" power commander, full pipe,  u4.4. He got 27.5 bhp.

race trim. full exhaust, bazzaz

Spoot the Honda would get crushed out there, even on the warm up lap. Do yourself a favor and get a Kawi if your going to run this class. I've put many together and for about $3000 you can have a competitive bike with 28hp. Or spend a bunch and build the shit out of a Honda and see how it stacks up...

new to the forums and just started trolling around.

I AM curious to know if there's a preference to what model / generation people are racing on the ninja 250 class? I just wanted to toss a post in and hopefully someone can chime in or even PM me their thoughts and/or suggestions.

Sounds like the chassis is quite an upgrade compared to the Ninja. But badly outmotored, even after heavy modification.
