That was pretty cool. Couple of questions:

have you ever timed yourself? I realize you are not running the same "route" every time but Earl Hayden in his book was talking about always timing his kids, so they could see if they were getting faster.

have you ever been busted by the cops? If I did what you are doing, I'd have the police there in about 5 min max. :(

I'm in the market for a quieter pipe. I should time myself. That would be fun. Maybe I will bust out the laptimer tonight after work and run 20 laps or so.

I have done the same thing on my MX 250 in a local vacant warehouse field.

I was busted by cops my 3rd time there.  Told the cop I was a new rider and was scared to go to a real MX track until I had basic skills down.  Played up the whole danger thing.

He let me go.  Only reason I even stopped when he waved me over was because I had to haul my bike there and my race van was in the lot.  No way to really run without riding a MX bike through town.  haha

I wish I could go there every weekend because after just 3 times my throttle control and trail braking were improving.  I would practice purposely loosing the front while tipping into a corner.

Now I just hit the MX track but the field was nice.  I could more easily simulate road racing techniques.
