Never been to Summit Point ?

Maybe watch Summit Point CCS race video from 2012 linked in this topic

Two things I noted.1) The camera is not level.  So left curves looks like he's leaning 80 degrees.2) They wave the green flag while the #2 board is showing ?

Covid-19 closure extended at Summit Point as West Virginia Governor announces re-opening timeline

Track re-opening date remains in flux pending government guidelines.

(May 4, 2020, Summit Point, WV) – In light of the re-opening timeline released by the governor, Summit Point Motorsports Park will extend the closure of the facility through May 18th. Some events beyond the 18th have also been postponed or cancelled by the individual organizers. Track officials will continue to monitor official state recommendations and will follow all guidelines as issued by the state of West Virginia.

The governor has released a 6-week time line, each week additional business categories will be added to the list of those that may return to business. Summit Point is working with state and local officials to determine what week our business category will be added to this list.

In addition, track officials are working on a "modified event program" that may allow the facility to re-open earlier to smaller groups with certain safeguards in place.

Current Summit Point Raceway Update

At this time the Summit Point Memorial Day weekend is on, we have submitted a procedure for the weekend to Summit Point management to share with the Governor's office. As this event doesn't fit easily into any particular category of the orders, to confirm compliance we have been pro-active seeking authorization.

These new procedures will allow us to comply with existing orders for limiting contact in enclosed spaces, masks, gloves and hand sanitizer for the staff who deal directly with the racers. (For the foreseeable future we will use these at every event.)

Since these are the two areas where the closest interaction takes place, here is our new procedure for registration and tech.

Registration:

Our goal is to limit personal contact to a minimum. (We are working on a touch-less registration but unfortunately we do not have a clear answer how an "app" would stand up in court as a signed waiver/release.)

One door in, (at Summit, the door to the East), and one door out, (the North door).

Each rider will be given their own pen, at the end on the line there will be a bucket for the rider to drop the pen in for us to sanitize when registration closes. (Registrars will sanitize their work station with wipes and/or spray anytime they return to their station and before leaving in the evening.)

One registrar will be stationed the door with gloves, face mask and hand sanitizer. They will have all riders sign a waiver and release at the door and control the access to 10 racers at a time in the room. (Unfortunately we have been advised that to get a true body temperature with an infrared thermometer, the subject has to acclimate to the ambient room temp for nearly 10 minutes before the test would be considered accurate so while we will have a touch-less thermometer available its accuracy could be compromised.)

Each registrar will have gloves, face mask and hand sanitizer for them and/or the racer to use. All staff in registration will be at least 6' apart with their own table between them and the racer. We will allow only 10 riders in the room (east classroom), at a time with 3 registrars. (Tape lines on the floor 6' apart).

Once the racer is finished and deposits their pen in the bucket, they will be asked to exit the North door.

Tech:

Our goal is to limit personal contact to a minimum.

Each inspector will have gloves, face mask and hand sanitizer for them and/or the racer to use.

We will have multiple tech lines approximately 10-12' apart.

Inspectors will strive to maintain 6' separation in the lines waiting to be inspected.

Racer will bring a stand to tech with the motorcycle and place the bike on the stand and move 6' away from the motorcycle. Then the inspector will evaluate the machines race-readiness. After placing an approval sticker on the machine or notifying the rider of what needs to be addressed, the inspector will move away from the machine and let the racer remove their machine from the tech area.

While we have some specific in-depth procedure changes for the staff, these are the outline we are starting with to mitigate the potential of spreading the virus among or racers and staff.

ASRA/CCS and Summit Point management believe event would be safe and in full compliance with existing restrictions but we understand new orders could be issued with immediate implementation that could remove/change procedures or require postponement or cancellation

Due to circumstances beyond our control, ASRA/CCS and Summit Point management have agreed to cancel the Memorial Day event at Summit Point Raceway.

While statewide restrictions are being eased on May 21st, the Jefferson County DHHS currently has a 5 person limit in place for all events and cannot commit to easing that restriction by the Memorial Day weekend. (The next projected change would be either to 10 or 25 persons, well below the expected racer and crew turnout of 400 people.)

For your information, SPR will be running schools and private rentals with this 5 person limit with the intent to implement and test the new procedures for upcoming larger events.

Both Summit Point and ASRA/CCS are committed to work with Jefferson County to make the June event possible. SPR has also committed to notify ASRA/CCS of any openings in their schedule to see if this event can be rescheduled.

Please be patient with the ASRA/CCS office when requesting a transfer or refund of entry fees for this event. Transfers can email their request to info@ccsracing.us, info@asraracing.com, chris@ccsracing.us or kevin.elliott@ccsracing.us. Refunds must contact Chris@ccsracing.us or fax your request to 817-246-2977.
1.    Transfer or refund deadline is June 1, 2020

Latest Summit Point Raceway June Update

ASRA/CCS and Summit Point management have formulated a plan for moving forward with the June 13-14 event at Summit Point Raceway.

First, this event is NO SPECTATORS. With that being said, you, your family and crew are welcome to attend the event with some simple, common sense precautions.

In addition to the Tech and Registration Guidelines below, please follow these directions and precautions.

All trailers and pit areas must be 10 feet apart. To make sure there is enough room, we ask that you park your trailer or set up your paddock space and then move your extra vehicles to a parking area. Remember the paddock is shared space, be kind to your neighbors so we don't have to ask anyone to move or leave.

Masks are required when you are in contact with others outside your pit/paddock area. If you are going to visit another rider in their pit or paddock, masks are required if you are within 6 feet of that rider or their crew. NOTE: You do NOT have to wear a mask around your pit/paddock when only you, your family and your crew are in your area. Riders do not need to wear masks when wearing their helmet on the track.

Riders meetings will be done by the PA system. During riders meetings we ask you turn off your generators and compressors for the length of the meeting as a courtesy to other.

If you happen to fall down, the ambulance will only put you in the ambulance if you need medical attention. Otherwise they will check you out and then if you are deemed physically okay, they will have you ride back to the paddock with the crash truck. This helps eliminate the down time required for the ambulance to sanitize the cabin after any patient is placed inside.

Thank you for your patience and support while we work on our newest course of action.
