Hi Bc,

You've hit the nail on the head.. Am Amateur status only because the last race I entered was an AMA round in Phoenix in, I think 98 maybe 99 and an AFM Endurance Race the same year. Thats exactly my point... Am I an amateur? Not in any orginization but CCS. Does that mean I'm a threat for an Amateur championship?? Absolutely not.. Will I be up to speed?  Again probably not, its been three, four years since I last raced with intent.  Having said that, I feel pretty confident that some poor guy on his first outing is gonna lap me..  My point is simply that novices need a place where thay can race against other novices.  Hell it took me three race weekends alone just to figure out where the next turn at Sears Point even went, let alone a reasonable line through same, and I'm still learning!

I just remember how excited I was the first time I spent three weeks trying to drill bolts for safety wire on an old 86 VFR with 70000 street miles for my first race. I remember hoping that I would be able to test my skills against other guys "fresh from the street" like myself or at the very least with less than a year of experience.. I do know I wouldn't want to run up against a guy who has been an amateur for three years +, and maybe not even against an old has been who's been racing since 93 and brings a Honda RS250 to my VFR ;)

Its a club race guys...give the amateur class back to the "amateurs". :)

LOL! I'll watch CNN to find out if and when I'm going. There's a word for leaking stuff like that. It's called treason. Pi$$es me off when I see them giving out sensitive info on TV.
