QuoteWasn't, now I'm not sure. Should I take a poll? ;D

Kevin,
You might not have a choice... this thing about winning championships and staying back business might not fly with CCS. But if you do have a choice and you want to stay amateur an additional year.. you should.  :)

(Putting my beer down) It's much more fun to go about it this way. ;D

Try this, If he stays Amature, he can't run F40. It wouldn't be fair to the "new" F40 guys. Realistically, if there wasn't a F40 class, I'd have never jumped out there into Superbike or GP or even Sportsman. I'd have stood and dreampt, if I was younger. The first wood I got in F40 gave me a new life. It got me into the whole thing and there are alot of Ol guys dreaming that don't know they could be doing. They need a chance. (and we need more race junkies)
I'm not trying to pick on KC, it is deffinitly spooky thinking about moving up. So maybe sideways would be easier.

Super Dave

Why does this age thing become such a problem.  I've put guys through my school that were 61 and 65.  I raced with Gary Nixon at Daytona (keeps sending me naked girlie pictures via e-mail), and he was the Grand National Champion in 1967 (when I was born), and essentially won the F750 World Championship in 1975(+/-).  Anyway, this is road racing, not MX where your body gets hammered.  Roger Hendrix passed Aaron Yates around the outside of the carousel at Road America.  Roger is 50+ (don't let him make you think he's 49).

Pull up the pants and have fun.  Ride the bike.  But the stupid white plate on and be done with it.

BLEH :P

I guess I'm just not that smart. ;D I jumped into racing this year head first. The only success I had was in F40. I raced in GTU, Heavyweight Supersport, Unlimited Supersport, Heavyweight Superbike and Middleweight GP. Average finish was about 16th. Even at Gateway, I was a midpack amatuer.(Hell, just look at my perfomance rating in those classes) I love racing the F40 class. I have become good friends with most of the riders in it. There are several riders that raced in 1 or 2 events and kicked everyones butt. I'll bet money that more than 1 of these riders will be back as Am. next year.  I'm a very competitve person and I don't think I'll like getting smoked as an expert. I do think it's pretty funny that a over 40, new to riding, 1st year racer, has stirred up so much poop over going expert or not. ;D ;D  (Pickin up another beer)

Hey, it gives me something to do while my kids out chasing girls. (picking up another beer)
But for Dave, spend 20 years working a boring job, raising kids and being dependable. Which were a wonderful 20 years don't misunderstand. But you start to assume your time has passed. It's not like there is a cheering section to tell you you can still do stuff, more likely friends ask if you've seen a psycoligist.
I love mid-life, my kid will inherit little wooden wall plaques!

My friends think its a mid-life crisis. My wife knows the truth, I've never grown up! ;D She made me get extra life insurance! What is she trying to tell me? My daughter came to see me race at Gateway in October. She had to leave after the Formula 40 race. She said she was happy that I won, but couldn't handle the stress!  ??? (1 more beer.)

Aint it great! Them worried about you for a change. They're thinking, if that nitwit hurts himself I'll have to pay my own car insurance. (just 1 more) I hope someday we get pitted near each other. That will be a good weekend. Tuff Sunday, but a good weekend.

I don't want to go expert cause I don't want to upgrade my stock suspension. According to almost everyone here, I can't go fast without the race stuff. So there. :P
