Are they still around?  Is there a U.S. importer  ???

Protein Filled

nope and no...

The V-Due was it's demise. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Big shame too. Way cool bikes with very nice designs.

Don't give up on your dreams! If an illiterate like K3 can write a book, imagine what you can do!

Think I saw a Bimota in Motorcycle Performance (Madison, WI) the other day...

Zac

Every now and then I see an older Bimota out at a track day, old DB2s, etc.

It probably wouldn't be that bad getting parts for one.  Other than the V-Due, they always used other engines (Ducati, Suzuki), and the chassis stuff was all top line Ohlins and Brembo, so there aren't too many Bimota specific parts on one other that the frame, bodywork, rearsets, exhaust, etc.

The Tesi is way cool but I'd go for an SB8R myself - the best use ever for a TL1000R engine.

I'm seriously looking to buy a Bimota to add to my collection of "exotics."  I spoke with a guy that specifically deals with Bimota bikes, and he said  to watch out for some of them.  He said they had an injection problem, and that some guys are replacing the injection system with another, and that severely decreases the value of the bike.  It almost makes it worthless.  He said he knows where there is an original Bimota 500 V-Due for sale, with 0 miles on the ODO.  A collector has it, and wants $55K for it. I wouldn't pay that much, but I would definetly entertain a solid original for under $15K that I could restore with original parts, and as long as the engine/trans/frame numbers matched, I'd do it.  If anyone knows someone or something, let me know.  I'd love to have the TESI 1D just because of it's design.  That thing is really a masterpiece.

I'm also looking for a Benelli Toranado TRE LE if anyone knows where one is  in mint condition.  I was on the list for one, but the importer screwed everyone, and took off with the money.   >:(  Luckily I used AMEX for the deposit, so I got my money back, but there are quite a few that got screwed for the full amount of the bike.  :(

There you go.  Put up or shut up Dan!

I'll tell you what.  Buy one of these and I'll build you a nice doghouse to park it in...
Heck, you might as well just buy them all, right?
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"
