Does anybody knows where can I find the rules to pass tech inspection with the AMA Supersport rules?

Or What are the main diffrecnes between CCS and AMA supersport rules.

CCS and AMA SS are quite different and the same in many different ways.

Go to AMAProRacing.com and look up the rules.

As for passing 'tech', in the past I've only seen them check for the proper 'stickerz' and let you go but I've heard people get hassled for things like front sprocket covers on 600rr's and stuff

khanson

It's the same as CCS stuff.

Safety wire your drain plug, fill plug and filter.  That's it.  Ohh, the belly pan has to hold 4 quarts of oil.

One big thing to remember is you have to use stock oem rotors.  You cannot run aftermarkets that are the same size.

Is that something newer?  I've run EBC rotors on my bikes in SS but that was a few years ago

The AMA has never allowed aftermarket rotors in any supersport type classes , you may have run them but they were illegal. Tech guys won't really notice things like that or really care unless you are one of the top finishers

Ryan125

Yeah they dont really care what you have if you finish last.

amazing--they know where you will finish in the race at pre-race tech?!

tshowrench

They know if you have a shot at winning or finishing top ten for sure!

I also heard that the aftermarket gas caps (like vortex) are illegal also.  You have to use the original cap.  Why is that? ???
What about safety wire on calipers and wheel nuts and shafts?
I heard that they are more strict than CCS

The stock parts requiremennts are much more strict, however the safety wire requirements are less so.  The parts will only bite you if you do decently or for some other reason draw their attention.

The first item on the checklist for AMA tech is that the bike is clean....

and have the right amount of the correct AMA stickers

Think about the safety wire on caliper bolts and axles for a minute.

You wire your bike and go to tech and pass.

Are you not going to change tires the rest of the weekend?

They have no way of policing it after you pass tech.  Ultimately, everything falls in the hands of mechanics.  Look at oil drain plugs.  People pass tech with them wired and they still have bikes with drain plugs falling out and oiling the track after guys change oil in them during the weekend.
